Software Engineer

Job Description

Akamai is looking for a Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain reliable software systems supporting network operations. The role involves distributed systems, automation, observability, identity management, and web- and console-based interfaces.

The engineer will collaborate with international and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software throughout the product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze, design, and implement highly available software systems.

Develop features for automation, observability, and identity-management services.

Contribute throughout the software lifecycle, from planning and implementation to operations.

Improve software testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance processes.

Collaborate with developers and stakeholders across teams.

Help less-experienced engineers implement quality solutions.

Evaluate emerging technologies related to network operations and automation.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

At least six months of programming experience in Python, Go, and/or shell scripting.

At least six months of development experience on Linux or Unix platforms.

Knowledge of internet protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, and/or TLS/SSL.

Experience with Git/Stash and Perforce version control systems.

Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
