Java Developer

Cognizant is hiring a Java Developer to design, develop, and maintain enterprise software applications using Core Java, Spring MVC, Hibernate, Kafka, and Oracle Database.

The role strongly emphasizes Core Java programming, problem-solving, collections, concurrency and multithreading. The candidate will work on an existing Spring MVC application and collaborate with engineering teams to develop reliable and maintainable software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain enterprise applications using Core Java.
• Solve programming and technical problems using strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Work extensively with Java String handling and mutability concepts.
• Use the Java Collection Framework effectively.
• Develop and troubleshoot concurrent and multithreaded applications.
• Work with Spring MVC-based applications.
• Work with Hibernate for database interaction and persistence.
• Work with Kafka within the application stack.
• Work with Oracle Database and perform database-related development and troubleshooting.
• Debug and troubleshoot application issues.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient Java code.
• Explain technical solutions and the reasoning behind implementation decisions.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver application enhancements.
• Support application maintenance and continuous improvement.
• Contribute to UI development using ReactJS when required.
• Follow software development best practices and coding standards.
