Business Analyst with Mortgage SME

Cognizant is seeking a Business Analyst with Mortgage Subject Matter Expertise (SME) to work with business stakeholders and technology teams to translate complex business requirements into scalable, secure, cloud-enabled solutions. The role involves functional analysis, requirements documentation, solution validation, testing, and continuous improvement using AWS and Microsoft Azure technologies.

The analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve operational efficiency, enhance customer experience, and support the delivery of reliable digital solutions across global markets.

Key Responsibilities

Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements from stakeholders.

Convert business requirements into functional specifications, user stories, use cases, and acceptance criteria.

Collaborate with architects and engineering teams to design secure, scalable, and cost-effective AWS and Azure solutions.

Review technical designs and configuration documents to ensure alignment with business requirements.

Work with product owners to prioritize backlogs, refine user stories, and plan releases.

Create process flows, data mappings, and functional documentation.

Prepare functional test scenarios and support system integration testing, regression testing, and user acceptance testing.

Investigate production incidents and defects, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.

Coordinate with security, compliance, and risk teams to meet regulatory and organizational standards.

Assess change requests, dependencies, risks, and potential business impacts.

Develop training materials and conduct knowledge-transfer sessions.

Identify opportunities for continuous process improvement.

Coordinate with distributed teams and communicate effectively in a hybrid working environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Extensive experience as a Functional Analyst or Business Systems Analyst.

Practical knowledge of AWS and Azure services, including compute, storage, databases, networking, and monitoring.

Strong requirements-gathering and documentation skills.

Experience with Agile methodologies, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and iterative releases.

Understanding of APIs, integration patterns, and enterprise data flows.

Knowledge of cloud security, identity and access management, data protection, and compliance.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, written communication, and verbal communication skills.

Required Certifications

AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional.

Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect Expert or an equivalent cloud certification.
