Add text and highlight boxes to a PDF page, then export a real PDF.
This adds new text and boxes on top of the page. It cannot change the text that is already in the PDF.
Add a PDF to see its pages. Click to place text, drag to draw a highlight, then export — all in this tab, nothing is uploaded.
This tool adds new content on top of an existing PDF, on your own device. Pick a page, switch on Add text and click where the text should go, or switch on Highlight and drag out a translucent box. Every item belongs to the page you placed it on, so switching pages shows only that page's work and the export keeps each item where you put it. Text is written with pdf-lib's Helvetica, so it comes out as real selectable text rather than a picture of text. One honest limit: this is not a word processor for a PDF. It cannot change the words already in the file, because a PDF stores positioned glyphs rather than editable paragraphs - it draws your new text and boxes over what is already there.
All processing happens in your browser. Your files are never uploaded to any server.
Text is drawn with the standard Helvetica family, so it stays selectable and searchable in the exported PDF.
A sideways page takes text and highlights exactly where you put them, the same way the reader sees the page.
No signup, no watermarks, no limits. Completely free to use forever.
Drop the PDF into the upload area, click to browse, or paste it with Ctrl+V. The first page appears on the canvas.
Use the previous and next controls to move through the document. One page shows at a time and each page keeps its own items.
Switch on Add text and click where the text should start, or switch on Highlight and drag out a box. Then type, and set the size, colour and opacity.
Drag an item to move it, or focus it and nudge it with the arrow keys. Delete removes the selected item.
Click Export PDF. Progress is shown page by page and can be cancelled, then rename the file and download it.
The editing and the export both happen in your browser using JavaScript. Your PDF is never uploaded to a server, nothing is logged, and closing the tab discards it. A highlight covers content visually rather than deleting it, so it is not a substitute for redaction.
