Software Engineer

Fidelity Investments is hiring a Software Engineer for its Application Engineering team within the Fidelity Fund & Investment Operations (FFIO) business unit in Bengaluru.

The role involves developing and supporting application platforms for fund and investment operations. The engineer will collaborate with business operations and product teams to understand requirements, design solutions, develop and enhance applications, and participate in planning, execution, delivery and ongoing support.

The position focuses on Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, REST web services, multithreading, SQL, ORM technologies and messaging platforms. Additional exposure to cloud technologies, job scheduling, Angular, financial investments and Agile development is beneficial. Candidates should have a bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or Information Technology, strong communication skills and a willingness to learn.

Required skills

• Java/J2EE: Object-oriented design and development.
• Core Java and Spring Boot.
• REST web services.
• Multithreading.
• SQL, preferably Oracle.
• ORM tools: Spring Data JPA and Hibernate.
• Basic Unix and shell scripting.
• Messaging platforms: ActiveMQ and Kafka.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Preferred skills

• AWS and cloud knowledge, including EKS.
• 12-factor application design.
• Job scheduling tools such as Control-M and AutoSys.
• Angular UI engineering.
• Financial investments or related financial-domain knowledge.
• Agile methodologies and iterative development.
