Role overview

Wayfair is seeking Software Engineer Interns to work with teams across Search & Recommendations Technology, Storefront Technology, Supply Chain Retail Technology, Marketing Technology, ML Platforms and Infrastructure, and Global Supplier Technology.

The role emphasizes software engineering, emerging technologies, artificial intelligence and integrating GenAI tools throughout the software development lifecycle.

Eligibility and qualifications

Currently enrolled in the seventh semester of a full-time B.E./B.Tech program in Computer Science.

Available to complete the internship during the eighth semester.

Strong academic record and interest in AI, emerging technologies and software engineering.

Exposure to object-oriented programming concepts and languages such as Python, Java or C++.

Familiarity with full-stack, mobile or cloud development.

Knowledge of web technologies, including SQL, JavaScript, HTML/CSS and Python.

Enthusiasm for using GenAI tools to build high-quality software.

Interest in AI-assisted workflows covering design, code generation, automated testing and deployment.

Strong problem-solving ability, autonomy, ownership and communication skills.

Potential areas of work

Depending on the assigned team, interns may work in search and recommendations, storefront engineering, supply chain technology, marketing technology, machine-learning platforms and infrastructure, or supplier technology.
