Software Engineer – AI Software & Platform

Cisco is hiring a Software Engineer for its AI Software and Platform Engineering organization. The role involves developing and maintaining scalable, distributed platforms that support AI-driven services. The engineer will work on software modules, microservices, data ingestion and processing, HTTP gateways, databases, automated testing, and cloud-scale systems under the guidance of experienced engineers.

The role also expects basic awareness of AI concepts such as MCP, AI Agents, and Agentic AI.

Required Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Strong foundation in

Data Structures and Algorithms

Software Engineering principles

Programming experience in at least one language
