Software Development Engineer

Delta Technology Hub is seeking a Software Development Engineer to design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable software applications supporting Delta Air Lines' technology and customer experiences. The role focuses on Java/Kotlin, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, REST APIs, microservices, AWS cloud services, frontend technologies, database design, AI/ML integration, CI/CD, testing, security, and scalable application architecture. Key Responsibilities: - Own and deliver assigned software development stories and tasks. - Translate business requirements into scalable application architectures. - Develop clean, maintainable, and high-quality software solutions. - Build and integrate frontend, backend, REST APIs, and microservices. - Work with Java/Kotlin, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, JPA, JSON, and JavaScript. - Work with AWS services including Lambda, S3, EC2, and DynamoDB. - Assist in integrating AI/ML-powered features using AWS AI services. - Support AI-driven capabilities such as personalization, NLP, and recommendation features. - Use AI-assisted development tools to improve coding, debugging, testing, and documentation. - Maintain CI/CD pipelines and achieve high software test coverage. - Develop unit tests and follow Test-Driven Development practices where applicable. - Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis. - Improve application performance, stability, reliability, and architecture. - Implement secure solutions using OAuth, JWT, and Spring Security. - Research and develop proof-of-concepts for innovative customer experiences. - Address technical debt and improve long-term maintainability. - Collaborate with business, product, engineering, and other stakeholders. - Document technical solutions and share engineering best practices.
