Software Dev Engineer I - AI

Swiggy is hiring a Software Dev Engineer I - AI to build and ship AI-powered consumer products at scale. The role involves designing, developing, and deploying production-grade AI features and agentic systems that impact millions of users. Responsibilities: - Own features end-to-end from design and development to production rollout and monitoring. - Build LLM-powered and agentic features for Swiggy consumer products. - Experiment with AI agent frameworks and choose the right tools for business problems. - Design, develop, and maintain scalable, efficient, and reliable software solutions. - Work closely with product managers, designers, and business teams to shape product initiatives. - Define, track, and optimize product and business impact metrics. - Participate in code reviews and design discussions. - Continuously improve software quality and engineering standards. - Learn and optimize AI systems for latency, cost, reliability, and evaluation in production environments. Must Have: - 1–2 years of full-time software development experience (excluding internships). - Hands-on experience building AI agents using frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, OpenAI Agents SDK, Claude Agent SDK, CrewAI, AutoGen, or similar. - Experience integrating LLMs from OpenAI, Anthropic (Claude), Bedrock, or Azure OpenAI. - Experience with prompt engineering, tool/function calling, and output evaluation. - Strong computer science fundamentals including data structures and algorithms. - Good understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns. - Proficiency in at least one programming language: Python, Java, or Golang. - Experience working with databases and Linux/Unix systems. - Ability to write maintainable, scalable, and efficient code. - Strong ownership, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills. Nice to Have: - Experience building consumer-scale AI applications. - Strong product mindset and user-focused thinking. - Experience monitoring production AI systems. - Ability to independently learn and evaluate new AI tools and technologies. - Experience participating in design discussions and code reviews.
