Software Dev Engineer I - AI

Swiggy is hiring a Software Dev Engineer I - AI to build and ship AI-powered consumer products at scale. The role involves designing, developing, and deploying production-grade AI features and agentic systems that impact millions of users.

Responsibilities

• Own features end-to-end from design and development to production rollout and monitoring.
• Build LLM-powered and agentic features for Swiggy consumer products.
• Experiment with AI agent frameworks and choose the right tools for business problems.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, efficient, and reliable software solutions.
• Work closely with product managers, designers, and business teams to shape product initiatives.
• Define, track, and optimize product and business impact metrics.
• Participate in code reviews and design discussions.
• Continuously improve software quality and engineering standards.
• Learn and optimize AI systems for latency, cost, reliability, and evaluation in production environments.

Must Have

• 1–2 years of full-time software development experience (excluding internships).
• Hands-on experience building AI agents using frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, OpenAI Agents SDK, Claude Agent SDK, CrewAI, AutoGen, or similar.
• Experience integrating LLMs from OpenAI, Anthropic (Claude), Bedrock, or Azure OpenAI.
• Experience with prompt engineering, tool/function calling, and output evaluation.
• Strong computer science fundamentals including data structures and algorithms.
• Good understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language: Python, Java, or Golang.
• Experience working with databases and Linux/Unix systems.
• Ability to write maintainable, scalable, and efficient code.
• Strong ownership, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
