Junior Software Platform Engineer

MetLife is seeking a Junior Software Platform Engineer to develop, maintain, and support scalable software platforms and services. The role focuses on Java, Spring Boot, Python, REST APIs, microservices architecture, API design, scalable systems, cloud technologies, database design, testing, CI/CD, production support, monitoring, and troubleshooting. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and maintain scalable software applications and platform services. - Design and develop REST APIs and microservices. - Work with Java, Spring Boot, and Python technologies. - Apply software design patterns and scalable architecture principles. - Design and maintain databases and data access components. - Participate in code reviews and follow secure coding practices. - Develop unit tests and integration tests. - Optimize application performance and reliability. - Troubleshoot application and production issues. - Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective solutions. - Support CI/CD processes and production deployments. - Monitor applications and contribute to observability initiatives. - Create and maintain technical documentation.
