Engineer- Search Team

Target is seeking an Engineer for its Search Team to build and improve large-scale search and discovery experiences used across Target's digital and in-store platforms. The role focuses on search systems, information retrieval, query understanding, relevance and ranking, semantic search, machine learning, data engineering, MLOps, and scalable distributed systems. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and maintain scalable search and discovery systems. - Build software components for large-scale search platforms. - Work on information retrieval, query understanding, relevance, ranking, and semantic search. - Develop and maintain search APIs and supporting services. - Apply machine learning and data science techniques to complex business problems. - Work with data engineering and MLOps teams on end-to-end search solutions. - Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and production ML infrastructure. - Build reliable and performant services for digital and store search experiences. - Use data-driven approaches to improve search quality and personalization. - Design and implement robust software architectures and engineering patterns. - Participate in software design and code reviews. - Troubleshoot operational issues and eliminate recurring problems. - Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, ML engineers, and other engineering teams.
