Consultant Software Engineer

CGI is hiring a Consultant Software Engineer to design, develop, and optimise scalable, secure, and highly available software solutions across cloud and on-premises environments. The role includes API development, code reviews, CI/CD, production reliability, incident response, troubleshooting, technical leadership, data-quality monitoring, disaster recovery, and collaboration with global engineering and operations teams.

12+ years of experience in a full-stack developer role

Engineering graduate, MCA, Computer Science graduate, or postgraduate qualification

Python API development using

Flask

FastAPI

RESTful API development, integration, versioning, and documentation

Code reviews and enforcement of coding standards

Git and version-control systems

CI/CD tools, preferably GitHub Actions

React, primarily for internal tools, dashboards, or platform interfaces

SQL and NoSQL databases

Data-quality frameworks and monitoring tools

Docker

Kubernetes

Agile development

Production reliability, availability, and performance management

Incident response and root-cause analysis

Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills

Preferred / Additional Skills

Banking-domain experience

Hybrid-cloud or multi-cloud environments

Technical leadership and design reviews

Disaster recovery and business continuity planning

Production on-call support and follow-the-sun operations
