Associate Engineer

About the role

Agivant is looking for curious, analytical Associate Engineers who are passionate about technology. This is an early-career opportunity for candidates who want to develop strong engineering fundamentals and grow into specialized technology roles.

Potential areas include AI Engineering, Graph Engineering, Data Science, Data Engineering, Data Analytics, Quality Engineering, Cloud and Infrastructure, DevOps, Build Engineering, and Full Stack Engineering.

Candidates will work with experienced engineering teams, contribute to real-world projects, and develop their skills through structured learning, hands-on assignments, and practical engineering experience. Candidates do not need to know every technology listed; strong fundamentals, learning ability, and growth potential are emphasized.

Responsibilities

Build AI-first and agentic applications and workflows using modern AI technologies and frameworks.

Develop, test, troubleshoot, and maintain software solutions under experienced engineers' guidance.

Apply programming, Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA), and problem-solving skills to engineering challenges.

Work with databases, SQL, APIs, and software development tools.

Contribute to applications, automation, utilities, and proof-of-concepts.

Gain exposure to Data Engineering, Full Stack Engineering, Quality Engineering, AI/GenAI, and Cloud Engineering.

Learn and apply Git, testing, debugging, and CI/CD practices.

Collaborate with engineering teams to build, improve, and maintain solutions.

Continuously learn new technologies and apply them to real-world business problems.

Mandatory technical skills

Strong programming fundamentals in at least one language, such as Python, Java, C++, or JavaScript.

Proficiency in Data Structures and Algorithms and Object-Oriented Programming.

Proficiency in Knowledge Graph concepts as data structures.

Logical reasoning, analytical thinking, debugging, and problem-solving skills.

Basic SQL and database knowledge.

Familiarity with Git or version control.

Ability to understand technical requirements and explain project work clearly.

Good-to-have skills

Exposure to any of the following is an advantage, but these are not mandatory:

Python, Java, C++, JavaScript, or TypeScript.

Generative AI, Claude Code, Gemini, Graph Neural Networks, prompt engineering, MCP, and RAG.

Web development, REST APIs, or backend development.

SQL databases, data engineering, or data pipelines.

Software testing, API testing, or test automation.

AI/ML and LLM-based applications.

AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure.

Linux, Docker, CI/CD, or DevOps fundamentals.

Hackathons, coding platforms, open-source contributions, or relevant technical projects.
