American Express is hiring an Analyst for its US Targeting Operations (USTO) team. The role involves converting business and product requirements into technical solutions for marketing segmentation, targeting, and eligibility. Responsibilities include data assessments, SQL/Python-based analysis, solution design, coding, testing, validation, production implementation, automation, and collaboration with Product, Marketing, Data, Consulting, and Technology teams.

The role combines technical implementation, data analysis, marketing operations, product thinking, and risk/control compliance.

Requirements

Required Skills

1–3 years of relevant work experience.

SQL.

Python, PySpark, or Spark.

Hive and big-data concepts.

Data analysis and data validation.

Strong coding and problem-solving skills.

Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.

Understanding of product journeys and operational effectiveness.

Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Understanding of Agile/Product delivery processes.

Preferred Skills

Adobe Experience Platform.

UNICA campaign-management tool.

VBA.

Application architecture and technology infrastructure.

Agile/SAFe methodologies.

SAFe certification.

Product management certification.

Marketing operations or marketing technology experience.

Responsibilities

Translate business and product intent into technical solutions.

Design segmentation, targeting, and eligibility solutions.

Conduct data availability, quality, dependency, and feasibility assessments.

Create eligibility logic, user stories, acceptance criteria, and executable code.

Perform coding, testing, validation, reconciliation, and production implementation.

Participate in code reviews and production-readiness activities.

Identify automation and process-improvement opportunities.

Work in sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, retrospectives, and PI Planning.

Maintain technical documentation and coding standards.

Follow governance, risk, control, and compliance requirements.
